Selling With Soul And Not Your Soul!

By

Have you considered what with the millions of layoffs and the corporate and institutional corruption – it’s become glaringly obvious to people, that relying on the ‘security’ of a regular paycheck or government handout, becomes more of a personal liability than an asset?

The big machine of corporate life that expects us to leave our souls at the corporate door at 9am every morning, without realizing that both the way we live and work is an expression of our soul, has cracked at the foundations.

Most company executives have not yet figured it out. That while they treat their employees with less concern than they do their stock options, at 5pm every evening their entire business’s intellectual capital walks out the door. One day it might never return!

In fact, it’s not returning! The big shock for companies is that while the bodies of their employees are turning up, their minds are not! They are too busy looking to use their intellectual capital to attain security elsewhere.

The Security of Self

And where will they look? To themselves!

It’s my prediction there will be a massive increase in new business startups over the next decade. This will come from people who are being laid off, and those who are not, but realize that there is no such thing as institutional security.

And who is best suited to assist these people? You are!

You have the ability to help them get involved in one of the best, oldest and noblest professions in the world – Selling!

  1. Selling your Business Opportunity to help others create their own happiness and security
  2. Selling your Products or Services to help them achieve whatever personal benefit they might get from them

The profession of selling when coming from a place of service and soul is to my mind the most financially, personally and spiritually rewarding thing there is.

Forget about the idea that network marketing or direct selling is not about selling. It’s all about selling, whether it’s with family, friends, your kids or people you don’t know. It’s a matter of how you think about and interpret selling, as well as how you act on your interpretation.

But what if what you offer them is nothing more than the same old thinking and approach that they want to escape from?

For example, if anyone still thinks that using or teaching any of the following techniques is acceptable to most people, they might want to think again…

  • Presenting features and benefits or telling your story as soon as you can
  • Closing
  • Objection Handling
  • Using manipulation

People have been there and done that! Approach them in the manner of the corporate world, and you offer nothing different than that from which they are escaping!

Your ability to make an impact and an impression on anyone, and to receive the rewards of happiness and financial security you seek, is dependent on understanding that selling is not about persuading or selling your soul. It’s about selling with soul! Coming from a place of grace and service.

    Great topic

Selling is the art of identifying the problem and helping the next person to reach for a good solution.

And in the whole process, you fully focus on what next person really wants in life and that way, you also give next person a feeling of importance which he/she craves deeply…

Very timely, Michael. Yesterday afternoon I bought a battery from a guy in the auto parts store who was concerned that he is approaching a surgery on his foot that will disenable him from working, and possibly cost him his J O B. I offered him a chance to learn about my business, but he insists upon “security.” I will share this with him today!

  4. PRECISELY! When I learned how to value what others had to say and what they believe and make the connection with them for their benefit and not mine, well, then, magic happened!

Michael, I always recommend your site and FREE Ecourse, it is part of getting anyone new started and re-engaging others who still need to learn how to sell, naturally :)

Thank you for the good work and continuing contribution!

Thank you for all the work you have done to put this information together. It’s a real benefit to us in our business, and personally. It’s even impacting the way I interact with my kids and grand kids. Your method has helped me focus on benefiting others, not just closing a sale. And it helps me in my own work…moving forward step by step, solidly and building better relationships along the way. I’m looking forward to small daily changes resulting in better and stronger results. Thank you!
