Could BE-ing Ourselves BE The Problem?
ByYou’ve heard the expression “Just be yourself”. Perhaps you’ve been told to BE yourself when you were struggling with how to communicate with someone for example.
This is an interesting piece of conventional wisdom and a cliché that I accepted and used until I woke up to the potential absurdity of it.
The potential absurdity comes from the fact that BE-ing ourselves got us where we are! So how does continuing BE-ing the person we presently are help us BE the person we want to be?
I think that BE-ing ourselves has more to do with finding the real US. The real us before we accidentally allowed ourselves to become influenced or trapped by surroundings and people who, while they meant well, piled all their personal baggage, limitations and fears into us.
So how do we find and BE the real us? The one that knows no fear – only love, joy and abundance?
For many the search is an unlearning as well as a learning experience. That’s why in my book “How to Sell Network Marketing Without Fear, Anxiety or Losing Your Friends” I talk about what I went through by challenging the conventional wisdoms of selling that seemed to produce more hurdles than results, until I found “another way”.
Another Way
What I found was a universal way that applies to everyone.
A way of changing my thinking and changing my actions that was in tune with a higher truth. It was about taking a thought and manifesting what I wanted.
Interestingly this was about practically applying the concept behind the recent DVD and the book “The Secret”.
It’s really no secret as to how to manifest the thinking behind “The Secret”. I’ve been teaching the spiritual background, the framework, and the process of how to get what you want through your business for years.
It’s about using that inner intuition or inner “knowing” we all possess and that will work if we trust it. We intuitively know what is correct and incorrect. What Buddha called “right thinking” and the “right path”.
There is a higher intelligence that will give you what you want, though first you have to be;
- In harmony with and, tuned into, what you want
- Feeling good about yourself, “Don’t worry, be happy” as the old song said
- Get out of your own way!
Many people think they are tuned in but are not.
For example, I’ve noticed the following situation is quite common among distributors. While they…
They talk about that selling is helping people get what they want
They believe that they’re tuned in to radio WIIFT (“What’s In It For Them”)
But, they’re still not getting results.
The cause of their difficulty is usually that they are still;
Thinking about and attached to (even a little bit!) getting their potential partner to do something, such as get them into their system.
Using techniques and still attempting to short cut everything in the name of “duplication”.
The radio station they are tuned into is radio WIIFM (“What’s In It For Me”)! Their business becomes a struggle, because people are not transmitting on that frequency!
Retuning their dial to the other frequency and voila, different and lasting results!

DO-ing and acting on it could help you really BE the person you are and give you the tools of HOW you can achieve what you are looking for.
Frank Sinatra once sang, “Do-Be-Do-Be-Do”. Perhaps it’s more accurate to say, “Do-Be-Do-Be–Have”!
